Only 12% of adults know the answer
Many would still regard Great Britain as a broadly Christian country but many Britons do not know too much about their country’s faith.
In a survey about the Christmas story 27 per cent of adults aged 18 or over were unable to name Bethlehem as Jesus’ birth place, while the figure rose to 36 per cent of people aged between 18 and 24.
Only 12 per cent of adults could answer all four questions about the Christmas story correctly.
Maybe the Christian faith seems a bit of a mystery to you too? Or perhaps you know quite a lot but would like to know a little more?
Alpha is an opportunity for anyone to explore the Christian faith in a relaxed setting over ten thought-provoking weekly sessions, with a day away.
The Alpha course is designed primarily for people who aren't churchgoers and each course is open to everyone who would like to attend.
Over 7,000 courses are currently running across the UK in rural and urban settings, including every major UK city.
“Many claim Alpha has changed their lives and appear genuinely happier for the experience."
