Who are we?
We are a lively Anglican Church in the popular West End of Leicester. We love God, we love his Son Jesus and we love the community around us.
Saturday Breakfast
Come to ‘Tomatoes’ on alternate Saturdays and enjoy a cooked breakfast and meet people from all walks of life. Read the papers, Chill, Talk, Listen, Share and Pray.
Join in
Meet in local homes to learn more about God, yourself and life. Go further with Alpha. You can also volunteer in various ways.
Justice, Fair-trade and Eco-friendly
We are a church that is passionate about these issues. Visit “Just” in Bishops Street, drink fair trade tea and coffee after the service. Explore ways to make our church sustainable and reduce our carbon foot print.
Join various members at Greenbelt, Spring Harvest or Soul Survivor.
Sunday Services
9.00am Sunday kicks off with a quiet communion service
10.30am Main Service: God’s church is an adventurous and dynamic place to be where we can worship together and see our lives transformed far beyond what we ever considered imaginable.
7.00pm if you want more there are three evening services a month:
1st Sunday - Communion Service
2nd Sunday ‘Thin Space’ – In the Celtic tradition "Thin Places" are places where the material world becomes thin and the spiritual can be more easily grasped. It is a place where it is possible to touch and be touched by God. "Thin Space" allows us time to experience a deep sense of God’s presence in our everyday world.
3rd Sunday – Prayer.
Children’s groups meet during the Main Service except for First Sunday when we all meet together.
What do we have to offer?
We offer a warm welcome in Christ’s name and we hope this is a place where you will be supported and find God during your time as a student in Leicester. If you are looking to be part of a church family rooted in a local community then come to the Martyrs.
We are all part of God’s family, and because of that, we invite students new to the area to have Sunday lunch with people from our church.
